Humphries understands the importance of environmental awareness and sustainable building practices within the construction industry. We recognize that as a leader in the construction industry what we do has an impact on the environment.
Humphries has implemented company-wide sustainable practices, both in corporate operations and in the field, to promote environmental stewardship. Humphries pledges to:
- Generate zero waste through reducing up-front demand and reusing materials whenever possible;
- Implement a recycling program;
- Provide environmentally sound treatment and disposal of materials used on our projects; and
- Proactively select and use materials that are benign to people and the environment.
Humphries has long believed in the mission of the USGBC through LEED certification of buildings – to transform the way buildings and communities are built and operate in order to promote an overall higher quality of life and produce a positive impact on business.
Humphries aligns with this LEED philosophy and has been at the forefront of the LEED effort in Georgia which began with our selection as the interior contractor for the first LEED-Gold Certified project in Georgia, the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation Building. Since that time, we have completed more than 20 LEED-Certified projects.
