Georgia State University CEAR

The Georgia State University Center for the Economic Analysis of Risk (CEAR) renovation project located on the 11th floor of 100-year old historic 35 Broad Street, was a complete renovation of a full 13,000 SF floor. The project was a complex, schedule-driven, occupied phased job that had to be completed in the summer months prior to the Fall Semester. Other challenges of this project included asbestos abatement, brick, mortar and wood slabs which could not support HVAC equipment, convection HVAC systems, and varying ceiling and flooring heights due to the multiple phases of the original building structure. The first two phases of the project focused on the office and standard function rooms while the third phase encompassed AV and the millwork intensive pre-function, collaboration, and seminar rooms. Innovative Smartboard technologies allow faculty and students to interact globally in real-time while studying the sciences of risk management.
